Outcomes of Complications of Chronic Otitis Media in Tertiary Care Facilty in Western Uttar Pradeh

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the frequency and management of complications chronic suppurative otitis media(CSOM).Patients Methods: Out 376 patients with CSOM, 44 (25 males, 19 females; mean age 48.5±3.5 years; range 21to 76 years) meeting criteria were enrolled in this descriptive cross sectional which was conducted at Department Ear Nose Throat, Head Neck Surgery. All newly diagnosed having CSOM enrolled. The treated first. Intracranial abscesseswere evacuated by neurosurgeons. Radical modified radical mastoidectomy performed.Results: Majority presented second third decade life (21-30 years: 27.27%, 31-40 18.18%).Most (59.1%) had lower socioeconomic status. Canal wall down most common (79.5%) procedure performed. Cholesteatoma operative finding (100%). Among extracranial complications, subperiosteal abscess (38.63%), while extradural outnumbered (22.72%) intracranial complications.Conclusion: Complications commonly affect younger people low Collaborating withneurosurgeons may assist successful infection.
